The lower middle market segment is businesses between 3 million and 20 million in revenue. Both main street and lower middle market businesses are generally owned by one to three individuals or families.
The marketplace to purchase these businesses is generally similar in that they are purchased by individuals or small groups of individuals. Also, the buyers of these businesses are using their own capital supplemented with bank acquisition financing.
The middle market segment has its own marketplace. These are much larger, more complex transactions involving multiple entities.
