Services Offered By The Shop:
--Daily, we offer small samples of cheese and Delectable Pantry staples. Based on what a customer is looking for, our knowledgeable staff educates guests on a one-on-one basis with interesting facts about specific cheeses and their particular uses. The Delectable Pantry "grocery" section of the shop features local or specialized packaged accompaniments to the cheeses. These are great for “slow food” snacking or meals, enjoyment at our numerous Lodi city parks and lake, and for noshing on at our many local winery and brewery tasting rooms.
--We offer structured cheese and culinary classes of 10 participants. Grand Central Kitchen hosts staff, invited guest speakers, winery and brewery representatives, or local guest chefs. They provide culinary instruction that can be hands-on experience or demonstration only. Classes provide a “sampling” of foods prepared or a full meal, depending on the topic. The classes provide the confidence the guest may need to use the skills taught to duplicate at home, and also building in the demand for the products that we carry that are used in the recipes. High entertainment value is also what the guests are looking for and we provide that too.
--The shop has a full calendar of community involvement, which includes the Farmer’s Market, from May to September. The Farmer's Market is held on the street in front of the shop, and we have a booth outside as well as the shop staying open during those evenings. Other Downtown events provide an opportunity for participation in the festivities organized by the Downtown Business Association, the Chamber of Commerce, or other local entities such as wineries during the Wine and Chocolate Weekend or Zinfest.
