Jay Minter passionately brings a lifetime of small business ownership experience along with trained knowledge to help buyers and sellers of small businesses achieve their business goals. Jay owned and operated J. A. Minter and Son Farm in Tyler for 20 years raising primarily cotton and peanuts along with other row crops, cattle, timber, and other crops. After exiting full time farming, Jay returned to school and earned his legal degree (JD cum laude) from Jones School of Law and then a legal masters in taxation (LLM cum laude) from the University of Alabama School of Law. Jay's private law practice in Selma focuses on helping small businesses and farmers with all their business needs including especially transition plans, custom contracts, and estate planning and administration. Jay's mission is to help make life easier for small business owners and to help them avoid the sorts of pitfalls that he has had to navigate in his own business experience.
